Cute newsletter style menu.
Poached eggs and asparagus. Not great for me because the sauce was a little too sourish and creamy for my liking (almost like what i'd imagine rotten eggs would smell like ;p).
Oregon salmon hash. This one was DELECTABLE. It was a mix of salmon pieces, potatoes, chives all lumped together in a yummy sour cream based sauce that was sooo good and so easy to eat. I love stuff that's soft and that goes down the throat easily without much chewing. This was a little like luxury comfort food.
THIS WAS THE BEST. THE BEST. THE BESTTTTT!! And my fav photo of the entire day XD
7 layered pancakes!! My friend who introduced us to the place had read about it online and that was what we had all come for... It was pretty much the best pancakes I'd eaten in my entire life.
In between the layers were all these delicious NUTS and RAISINS and DRIED FRUIT and they even sprinkled such a generous helping all over the plate! =D I'm a huge huge huge fan of well, what you can call trail mix ingredients because they're so easy to eat and they cater to my sweet tooth while fooling me into thinking that it's a healthier snack option compared to other stuff. Together with the maple syrup it was sweet but not overly sweet because there was enough pancake to balance it out. I loved the feeling of stabbing a bit of plain pancake and then topping it with a spoonful of raisins/dried fruit/nuts. It even felt healthy if one didn't focus on the syrup...and the nutella in between the layers.
So basically it was heavenly... Too bad it was more like 1/4 of 7 pancakes piled on top of each other and not 7 whole pancakes eh?
Squid ink pizza. This one was kinda weird. ;p Because the crust was made with squid ink, it came out all black and dusty. We felt like we were eating ash. But the squid and veggies on top were decently cooked with a lemon tangy taste so I ended up eating the toppings rather than the crust. Muahaaa.
For dessert, we tried this dish called Rumbaba - something like a sponge cake SOAKED in rum. One bite and it was like woahhh! :)
Oh the multitude of desserts that we wanted to try but were too full/broke to order. There were so many cakes there that were really TALL-- possibly 5 to 7 inches high type of cakes. I'm definitely going back one day, if only for the pancakes...

ReplyDeletefremont is a cute district with a few boutiques, bellevue square, downtown and the downtown nordstrom rack has a lot of designer clothes on sale, the finerie on 1st in downtown has one of kind but really expensive clothes, university village is a nice area too with stores like h&m and anthropologie. belltown has some clubs/bars for nightlife, and also restaurants. there is so much in seattle food wise! don't go to chinatown.. it's old and not very good. i eat out every meal haha i love food. check out yelp.com and let me know which ones you think sound good, i've probably been there before.
hope you're having fun so far! maybe i'll bump into you ;)

ReplyDeleteWOW!!! I love your maxi dress! You look gorgeous and pull it off SO well (I never will be able to pull one off!). I love all the necklaces with it as well!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, thank you so much for taking the time to write that long comment!! My blog is near and dear to my heart....and that kind of response is the response that melts my heart :)
I am realizing I really AM a lucky girl! My boyfriend is kind of amazing in how he puts up with taking pictures. I mean, him asking to take them?? It was really amazing. However, we have only had one shoot, so that may change :P.
Without soccer...I plan on focusing full time on school and finishing the school year out strong. I've fallen behind in calculus and government (which is pathetic, really), so I plan on studying hard to pull my grades up. And... seeing the boy. :)
I'm also determined to learn to sew!!! I have sketches of different dresses I'm determined to make. I can do minor alterations and basic sewing stuff, but I've never made anything aside from a skirt. So. We'll see :)
Again, thanks!
And those pancakes look AMAZING. I love pancakes!!
Love,
maggie:)
Oh my goodness. 7 layer pancakes? Sounds like heaven on earth. I might have to concoct my own version. Haha, love that sign, too: "a mix of brownie, chocolate sponge and hazelnuts rolled into a big awesome cake" !!!
ReplyDeleteThat maxi dress is gorgeous on you. Perfectly summer-chic.
Aw, I'm sorry to hear you're sick while on your vacation. I hope a good night's rest cures your cold, too. Feel better! Also, I answered your question in my comments, but then thought you might not see it there. I took the first two photos with my digital camera and tripod. I'll admit, I felt a little silly setting the timer on the digital then pretending to take a photo with the film camera. Hehe, good silly fun. Oh, and I know what you mean about not getting all your film back. Unless they're completely black or gray I'd still like to see them.
Ahhhh, food food, delicious food....and I just had toast. Those pancakes.....I can't wait to get back to Australia to go to my favourite breakfast places, I just can't find anything anywhere near as good in Spain. ...but those pancakes, those pancakes.....sigh
